Black Tie Dinner Report

Continued from Page 1

And we heard from an FBE student, Tony, about the recent Student Weekend Away. Cameron looks after the FBE campus so had to run out of the dinner and ‘onto campus’ to speak to Tony Lam.

Then Malcolm shared with us about the Create and Outreach Posters ministry. There was much to thank God for, particularly the response from the ‘Jesus Loves Osama’ poster that was run in February this year. We took the opportunity to thank Jeff & Lynne Blair

who started the Outreach Poster ministry some 18 years ago. Matt Andrews who is on the Outreach Poster team, thanked the Blair’s for their hard work and commitment and presented them with a framed scaled down version of the ‘Jesus Loves Osama’ poster. It has taken FEVA a team of seven people to continue the ministry that Jeff and Lynne have been running on their own!

This is a really exciting time in the ministry as there is so much opportunity to promote Jesus broadly in our community. Malcolm shared the vision for Create to support the poster ministry through targeted promotional campaigns. The sky is the limit!

Well this would make for a full night, but there was more! With the main course out of the way, it was live auction time and James Hutchinson rose to the occasion as the auctioneer extraordinaire!

All up, the night raised a much-needed $17,500 profit and a further $2900 was donated for specific FEVA items. It was a great night of fun, fellowship around Christ and raising awareness and support for the ministry. We’re looking forward to next year!
